This class provides participants with an introduction to fundamental industrial hygiene practices and their application in the construction industry. Participants will learn how to recognize, evaluate, and control common occupational health hazards associated with asbestos, lead, noise, and respirable crystalline silica. We will explore the health effects of each topic, regulatory requirements, assessments methods, monitoring techniques, and practical control methods, such as engineering controls, work practices, and personal protective equipment.
