This year's Construction Week will be held October 4-8, 2021.

We are also anticipating Gov. Kim Reynolds to again sign a proclamation officially designating this week as Construction Week in Iowa.

Held annually in the first week of October, Construction Week is a celebration of those in the commercial construction industry.  During this week, construction companies, service providers, and associations alike recognize the hard work of those individuals who help create our built environment. This recognition takes many forms, including highlighting workers, distributing appreciation gifts, hosting company outings and appreciation lunches and more. By demonstrating appreciation for industry colleagues, we simultaneously increase the visibility of the construction industry in our communities.

Many construction firms also use this time to promote the industry as a safe, exciting, and rewarding career option. Shifting the public’s perception of careers in construction is critical to filling the labor shortage our industry is experiencing. Through job site visits, career days, speaking opportunities, and more, many of our members celebrate this week by bringing construction careers to life for students, educators, and parents.

As a part of our Construction Week celebration, we ask members of Master Builders of Iowa to submit exceptional field staff to have the spotlight on them!  We will post all submissions  throughout Construction Week 2021 on our Facebook and Twitter feeds, and they will also be featured in the Winter Edition of the InsideMBI magazine.
