Negotiation is a critical business skill. You must be influential to succeed, and negotiation is the interactive process in which people try to influence each other. We all negotiate many times during the course of the day, whether we know it or not. Even the simplest decisions people make together in their personal lives can involve negotiating skill. In this session, we will discuss the strategy, process, tools, and techniques that successful negotiators understand and use that make them more powerful with others. This session goes beyond the formal, structured negotiating process and reveals the missed opportunities for informal negotiating and uncovers the less-than obvious negotiating tools others use when deliberating with us.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn a step-by-step process for planning and executing an effective discussion (negotiation)
  • Discover the fundamental DOs and DON’Ts of negotiating effectively and being more influential
