Essential Conversations for Lean Project Success

Construction and design projects are above all human endeavors. Projects are delivered by people in relationship acting together in language: they form and express opinions, make claims for the truth, make declarations, and coordinate action by making requests and receiving promises. The opportunity for misunderstanding and breakdowns in our collective action is everywhere. This session will introduce the Language Action Perspective (LAP), which recognizes that everything that happens, happens first in language. Learning to use language to cause action is the essence of learning to lead a team, and this training has been embraced by some of the most effective teams on IPD project. You’ll be introduced to the conversation workflow loop, learn to recognize breakdowns that are causing problems, and experience some techniques for creating a stronger, more cohesive team. Whether you are leading a large, interdisciplinary team, or just trying to make sure your dry cleaning is ready when you want it, these techniques will improve your ability to cause action and make you a more effective leader.

Fee includes workshop style training, class materials, and lunch. Participants are responsible for travel and overnight accommodations.
Class size is limited to the first 50 registrants!
