Presenter: Ross Wilburn, Iowa State University Extension & Outreach - Ames, IA
This interactive and informative session is an introduction to Navigating Difference which is an 18 hour course developed by Washington State University and explores the definition of diversity, approaches to diversity learning, and the “preference to oppression slope.” Participants of this 90-minute session will be introduced to these concepts and have an opportunity to experience the Diversity Wheel activity that explores the dimensions of diversity that they personally bring to the work setting and to better understand how these differences can be either strengths or barriers (or both) in relationships with colleagues.
