This seminar will provide an overview of construction cost accounting and the treatment of direct and indirect construction costs. The development of burden rates for different types of indirect costs will be presented as well as different methods for applying the burden amounts to contract costs. The economic impact of fluctuating costs in this period of price volatility will be explained along with the related impact on project cost forecasting. Project estimating and pricing strategies will also be covered in this seminar. The objective of this seminar is to provide the participant with an understanding of contract cost accounting and the related impact on forecasting work in process and estimating.
